The City

It only rains at night. The city is shrouded in heavy downpour. Few lights can be seen from windows. The few lights cast feeble rays into the darkness before being swallowed up. The rain heavily pours out of the sky, pounds on the buildings and runs down the sides to be carried away. Atop one building, the rain hammers loudly on the black cape of a young woman. Hidden within its voluminous folds, she remains relatively dry and watchful. Before her stretches a vast metropolis filled with building reaching for the sky. Tonight it is the moon they reach for.
